So much more than I asked for today
We are wrong
and we are broken
and we are covered in the scars we have given each other
we have given ourselves
But when we take these gnarled limbs
that have weathered so much
these broken vases, glued back together with promises and lies and tears and rubber cement
and we wrap them
into the places they fit without thought
without friction
without hesitation
they are stronger than the mightiest fortress
the tallest mountain
the tightest bond of molecules upon molecules
and I am safe
